Bring nutrition from your facility to your kitchen
Elite athletic performance starts with elite nutrition. Edible Garden Designs partners with athletic departments and sports organizations to install on-site edible gardens that connect athletes directly to the food that fuels their performance.
Imagine fresh herbs, leafy greens, and nutrient-dense vegetables growing steps from your training kitchen or nutrition center. Not shipped across the country. Not sitting in a warehouse for a week. Grown right where your athletes train, harvested the same day it is eaten.
Why on-site gardens matter for athletic performance
Freshness equals nutrient density
Produce begins losing vitamins and antioxidants the moment it is harvested. An on-site garden delivers greens, herbs, and vegetables at peak nutritional value, not days or weeks after picking.
Athlete engagement with nutrition
Athletes who see food growing, who understand the connection between soil and plate, develop a deeper relationship with what they eat. This translates to better adherence to nutrition plans.
Brand and recruiting value
An on-site edible garden is a visible, tangible demonstration of a program's commitment to athlete health. It is a differentiator in recruiting conversations and a powerful story for media and social content.
Sustainability and institutional values
On-site food production aligns with the sustainability goals that universities, professional teams, and corporate athletic facilities are increasingly prioritizing.
Mental wellness
Time in a garden has well-documented stress-reduction benefits. For athletes managing intense physical and mental demands, a garden space offers a restorative environment.

Our services for athletic facilities
Custom facility design
We assess your property, training kitchen proximity, available space, and growing conditions to design an edible garden that fits your facility's layout and nutrition program goals. Designs include visual mockups, crop selection aligned with your dietitian's meal plans, irrigation plans, and phased implementation timelines for larger installations.
Design fees start at $1,000
Learn more →Full installation
We handle every aspect of the build — raised beds, soil, irrigation, initial plantings, and any structural elements like pathways, fencing, or signage. We coordinate with your facilities team and work within your scheduling requirements. Installation is available in South Florida, with project-based travel for larger national engagements.
Learn more →Ongoing maintenance
Gardens need consistent care to produce reliably. We offer maintenance contracts that include weekly visits, seasonal replanting, pest management, harvesting, and coordination with your nutrition staff on crop timing and availability. Your kitchen always knows what is coming out of the garden and when.

We can design garden experiences that involve athletes directly — planting days, harvest events, nutrition education sessions in the garden, and content creation opportunities for social media and recruiting materials.
Crops aligned with performance nutrition
We work with your dietitians and nutrition staff to select crops that align with your athletes' dietary needs.
Leafy greens & microgreens
Kale, spinach, arugula, Swiss chard, microgreen blends — nutrient-dense, fast-growing, and high-turnover crops that provide a continuous supply.
Fresh herbs
Basil, cilantro, parsley, mint, rosemary, thyme, oregano, lemongrass — used daily in training kitchen meal prep.
Recovery & anti-inflammatory crops
Turmeric, ginger, moringa, wheatgrass — functional foods increasingly used in athlete recovery protocols.
Seasonal vegetables
Tomatoes, peppers, cucumbers, zucchini, sweet potatoes — rotated seasonally for year-round production in South Florida.
